The Social Deduction Game Taking India By Storm

What is Among Us?

Among Us is an online multiplayer social deduction game developed and published by American game studio Innersloth. It was released in June 2018 but gained massive popularity in 2020, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The game takes place in a space-themed setting, where players take on one of two roles: Crewmates or Impostors. Crewmates must complete tasks around the map while identifying and eliminating Impostors. Impostors pretend to be Crewmates while secretly killing them and sabotaging the map.

What makes Among Us unique is its focus on social interaction and deception. Players must communicate with each other to figure out who the Impostors are, leading to intense discussions and accusations!

How to Play Among Us?

Crewmates

The majority of players are Crewmates. Their goal is to complete all tasks or identify and eliminate all Impostors.

Tasks are simple mini-games like fixing wiring, emptying garbage, or charting courses. Completing tasks fills a progress bar - fill it completely to win!

If you find a dead body, you can call an emergency meeting to discuss who the Impostor might be. You can also call meetings by pressing the emergency button.

Impostors

A small number of players (usually 1-3) are Impostors. Their goal is to kill all Crewmates without being caught.

Impostors can move through vents to quickly navigate the map and can sabotage equipment to create chaos and distract Crewmates.

Impostors pretend to do tasks and blend in with Crewmates. They must lie and manipulate during meetings to avoid being voted out!

Meetings & Voting 🗣️

When a body is reported or an emergency meeting is called, all players gather to discuss. This is where the real fun begins!

Players share information about who they saw where, make accusations, and defend themselves. After discussion, everyone votes on who they think is an Impostor.

The player with the most votes is ejected from the map. If they were an Impostor, Crewmates gain an advantage. If not, Impostors get closer to victory!

Indian Player Among Us Strategies 💡

Indian Among Us players have developed unique strategies and gameplay styles that work particularly well in local lobbies. Here are some exclusive tips from top Indian players:

Crewmate Strategies from India

Stick Together in Groups (साथ में रहें)

Indian players often use the "buddy system" - moving in groups of 2-3. This makes it harder for Impostors to kill without being seen. If someone in your group is acting suspicious, call them out!

Prioritize Common Tasks (आम कार्यों को प्राथमिकता दें)

Indian players know that completing common tasks first helps identify Impostors. Since everyone has to do common tasks, you can catch Impostors who pretend to do them incorrectly!

Use Hindi Code Words (हिंदी कोड शब्द उपयोग करें)

In mixed language lobbies, Indian players often use simple Hindi words as code to identify allies. For example, saying "मुझे शक है" (I have a suspicion) can alert fellow Hindi speakers without making Impostors suspicious.

Impostor Strategies from India

Sabotage During Busy Times (व्यस्त समय में सabotage करें)

Indian players have mastered the art of sabotaging during peak activity times, like when many players are in electrical or admin. This creates chaos and allows for easy kills!

Pretend Language Barrier (भाषा बाधा का नाटक करें)

A clever trick used by Indian Impostors is pretending not to understand English during discussions. This makes others less likely to question you closely!

Vent Near Popular Tasks (लोकप्रिय कार्यों के पास से वेंट करें)

Indian Impostors know which tasks are most popular in each map. Venting between these areas allows quick movement while always having a plausible explanation for your location!

Map-Specific Tips for Indian Players

The Skeld (Most Popular in India)

Indian players love The Skeld for its simplicity. As Crewmate, always check the admin table to track player movements. As Impostor, use the electrical-medbay vent loop for quick kills!

MIRA HQ

Popular among Indian college students. The small size means you'll see other players often - perfect for making alibis. The decontamination room is great for ambushes!

Polus

Favourite among competitive Indian players. The large map allows Impostors to hide easily, but the cameras near electrical and storage can catch you!
